Incorp Services Files Federal Defamation Suit Against LegalZoom.com.

LAS VEGAS, February 9, 2009 -- Corporate services company Incorp Services Inc. filed a federal defamation suit today against competitor LegalZoom.com in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

Incorp Services Inc. ("Incorp") and LegalZoom.com both form corporate entites for their customers and will also serve as registered agent for service of process for a fee.

The complaint alleges that customers of LegalZoom who are forming corporations and opt to use Incorp as registered agent are told by LegalZoom telephone representatves that Incorp "is not in good standing," "cannot not be used" as registered agent, is "not licensed to do business" in some states, or Incorp is "not legal" in various states.

Incorp states in its complaint that they are registered and in good standing in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.

In addition to pleading a cause of action for defamation, Incorp is also seeking to recover for Acts of Deceptive Trade Practice under Nevada law.
